Through my books
I've worked to give readers permission to have fun with cooking, to
experiment and explore, and to cook with confidence and enthusiasm. For a
long time, I've felt that television it does such a good job of combining
entertainment and education would allow me to do this even better
than in a book. I would be able to invite people into my life, to meet my
friends who are chefs and producers of spectacular ingredients, to show how
cooking can center and enrich family life. KQED Inc., a Public Broadcasting
affiliate here in San Francisco, does knock-out cooking shows including Jacques
Pepin's Kitchen. I approached them about producing a cooking show with me.
They accepted and have been very supportive of my sometimes goofy, out-of-the-box
thinking. |
